Mrs. Ruth Saxon Gilliam, 91, formerly of Elberton, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Lifecare of Gwinnett in Lawrenceville. Mrs. Gilliam was born in Hartwell on March 23, 1925 to the late Louis Richard and Rona Bell Hall Saxon. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewel Clamp and Mae Rampey. She worked in Healthcare and retired as an LPN. Mrs. Gilliam is survived by her daughter, Vivian Hibbard Coogler (William) of Dacula;four grandchildren: Lee Anderson (Kimberly), Craig Coogler, Christie Cosby (Cliff), and Philip Coogler; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ellis Saxon (Edla), along with several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Mrs. Gilliam's life was held on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church, 1450 Pine Road, Dacula, Georgia 30019.A private interment was in Elmhurst Cemetery. Arrangements for Mrs. Ruth Saxon Gilliam were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
