Sandra "Sandy" Brown Andrew

Sandra Brown Andrew was born in Elberton, GA, in 1944 to Curtis and Alleen Adams Brown. Sandra was a  joyful, fun-loving, one-of-a-kindchild. She was one of four children whom she loved playing with daily. She loved being outside and playing with their family pets. Sandra was diagnosed at a young age with Retinitis Pigmentosa, an eye disease that in time causes permanent vision loss. Sandra didn’t let her vision impairment stop her from anything. Her parents placed her at Georgia Academy for the Blind to help her with the life skills she would need to function daily. While at Georgia Academy for the Blind she ran track, performed in the high jump and other countless activities. Upon completion at Georgia Academy for the Blind, Sandra worked for Sears Roebuck as a switchboard operator.

Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Brown, mother, Eileen Brown, sister & brother-in-law; Jean & Jonny Scarborough, sister and brother-in-law; Annette & Bob Bond, brother; Wayne Brown, niece; Brenda Chandler, Nephews; Wendell Fortson & Gary Fortson and countless cousins.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 51years William “Bill” Andrew, her only child & daughter-in-law: Bryan & Shawn Andrew, granddaughter: Ansleigh Andrew, grandson: Micah Andrew, Sister-in-law: Marion Brown, Nieces; Freda & Jeff Atkinson, Lari Scarborough, Lisa & Jim Burch, Wanda Campbell, Nephew; David & Kasie Brown, several great nieces & great nephews, and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 24th, at 2 pm at Journey Church in Canton located at 415 Charles Cox Drive, Canton, GA 30115.
