Sara Mcmullan Durham

Mrs. Sara Katherine McMullan Durham, 89, of Carey Street, Elberton, GA, wife of 70 years to the late Jack Rowe Durham, Sr., passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020, at St. Mary's Hospice House in Watkinsville.

Sara was born on January 5, 1931, in Elberton, GA, daughter of the late Jim Martin McMullan and Lessie Inez Greenway McMullan. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from Pilgrims Pride (formerly Elberton Poultry) where she worked as a secretary.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan Sigman of Elberton,GA; sisters: Bobbie Sue Hall of Elberton, GA, and Nita Brown of Elberton, GA; brothers: Hubert McMullan of Elberton, GA and Donnie McMullan of McDonough, GA; grandchildren: Drew Durham, Tara and Dwayne Brown, and Ty and Morgan Sigman, all of Elberton, GA; great-grandchildren: Caden, Colson, Carlee, Lizzie, and Temperance, all of Elberton, GA; and host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Jack Rowe Durham, Jr.; infant brother, Ralph McMullan; a sister, Wilene Brady; and brother, Jimmy McMullan.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held at 2PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. David McConnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45p.m. just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon.

Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in her memory to Northside Baptist Church.
