Sara Thomas Whidby

Ms. Sara Thomas Willis Whidby, age 83 of Elberton, died January 7, 2009. Ms. Whidby was born in Hart County to the late Haney E. Willis and Minnie Lee Carlton Willis, and she was a life-long member of Concord UMC. She was preceded in death by her son James Edward Whidby and her brother Donald J. Willis. She is survived by her son Wayne T. (wife, Ann) Whidby of Calhoun Falls, SC; her daughter Sandra W. (husband, Lamar) Lindsey of Elberton; grandchildren, Michelle Adams, Melissa (husband Marcus) Tomas, Zeke (wife, Christy) Adams, and Jared (wife, Amanda) Whidby; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emmalee, and Gracie Whidby, Blain, Caiden, and Braxton Tomas, Brittany and Michael Owens; her brother, John E. Willis of Elberton. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 10 at 11:00 AM in Concord United Methodist Church with her body to lie in state at 10:00.Rev. Al Davis will be officiating.Interment will follow in Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends Friday evening 6-8 PM in the funeral home. Hicks Funeral Home is assisting the Whidby family with arrangements.
