Sarah Hellen Flowers Anglin

Mrs. Anglin Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 surrounded by her family after a long battle with several health issues at the age of 80. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Anglin was born January 3, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia to Lloyd Vas Flowers and Ruby Wilson Flowers. At the time of her passing she was a resident of Oglethorpe County, Lexington, Georgia.

She is remembered in love by her husband of 64 years. Rev. William Dupree Anglin. Children: son, Danny William Anglin of Lexington, GA , daughters, Deborah (Loyd) Callaway of Comer, GA, Jane (Michael) Angel, of Carlton, GA and Shevonda Cowart, Lexington, GA. Grandchildren: Daniel Anglin, Brad Anglin, Stephanie Anglin Jackson, Danielle Anglin, CaSondra Anglin Black, Jeremy Anglin, Samantha Anglin Smith, Staci Callaway, Chad Callaway, Bobby Matthews, Madyson Matthews Parsons and Sarah Kate Cowart Brown, 18 great- grandchildren, her sister Shirley (Larry) Waldroup. Numerous nieces and nephews and so many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Ruby Wilson Flowers: her son, Jerry Dupree Anglin: her sister, Jackie Flowers Wilkerson and her brother Lamar Flowers.

Mrs. Anglin’s most valued treasures on this earth were her relationship with Jesus Christ and her immediate and extended family. She was the spiritual leader of her family. She served faithfully as a Pastor’s wife for over 50 years and she loved working with the children at church. She always welcomed many of the neighborhood kids in her home throughout the years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and yard work; she loved beautiful flowers, scrapbooking and keeping a tidy house. She was a faithful friend to so many in her life.

Mrs. Anglin worked as a private care taker for the elderly for many years.

Mrs. Anglin was a member of Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church, Crawford, Georgia.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church, Crawford, Georgia. 

The Funeral will follow at 2:00 P.M.

Rev. Terron Gentry will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Mrs. Anglin’s life. Burial will follow in the Cemetery at the church.

Pallbearers will include Bobby Matthews, Chad Callaway, Kole Brown, Chris Parsons, Randy Anglin and Paul Hill and honorary pallbearer will be Donavon Ivie

The family would like to thank the abundance of friends and family who have visited and cared for her over the past few months. A special thank you to the staff at Physician Care Centers and Gentiva Hospice Care.

The family is at their respective homes.
