Mrs. Sherry Jean Fry Nash, 66, of Elberton, Georgia passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. Sherry was born in Carrollton, Georgia,to the late Jim Fry and Zelma Smith Fry.She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Nash.Sherry worked in the textile manufacturing industry throughout her life.She was of the Methodist faith. Sherry is survived by a son, Scott Black (Melissa); three grandchildren: Brantley, Amanda, and Gracie; a sister, Jane Maxwell (Lamar); and three brothers: Ricky Fry (Doris), Wayne Bridges (Debbie), and Gary Fry (Kathy).She also leaves behind five nephews: Josh, Jacob, Josh, Morgan, and Andrew; four nieces: Leanna, Michelle, Melanie, and Amanda;four great-nephews: Luke, Carter, Briar, and Camden; four great-nieces: Jamie, Cyndee, Cadence, and Alyssa; and a great-great-niece: Wendy. A service to celebrate Sherry’s life was held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home, with Richard Grimes officiating.A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Wednesday evening at Hicks Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m.Interment followed in Forest Hills Memorial Park, with Josh Fry, Jacob Fry, Ricky Fry, Rusty Seymour, Mark Nash, and Alex Reed serving as pallbearers.Serving as honorary pallbearers were Wayne Bridges, Lamar Maxwell, and Gary Fry.
