Shirley Brown Floyd

Mrs. Shirley Brown Floyd of Ruckersville Road, Elberton, wife of Melvin Floyd, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Floyd was born January 5, 1947 in Greenwood, SC to Charles D. Brown and Jeanette Ginn Brown. She was retired from Monroe Automotive Equipment where she worked on the assembly line. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Melvin Calloway Floyd; sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth Ray and Lynn Dove of Hartwell, GA; Douglas Wayne and Michele Dove of Colbert, GA; Jeffery Scott Dove of Elberton, GA; step-children Gregory Scott Floyd, Sr. of Elberton, GA; Stacey Floyd York of Hartwell, GA; Jefferey Wayne and Missy Floyd of Dewy Rose, GA; parents Charles D. Brown and Jeanette Ginn Brown; siblings Linda Calbert, Mike Brown and Larry Brown all of Greenwood, SC; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Timothy Craig Dove and sister Charlene Brown. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
