Shirley Carter

Mrs. Shirley Dove Carter, age 57, of Hartwell, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Shirley was born October 31, 1958 in Abilene, Texas; the daughter of the late Donald Thad and Helen Porterfield Dove. Shirley is survived by her husband, Bruce Carter of Lorida, Florida; two daughters, Christy Phillips (Adam) of Hartwell, Georgia, Sherri Waldvogle of Hartwell, Georgia; two sisters, Patricia Dove of Toccoa, Georgia, Cindy Dove Stamatis of Macon, Georgia; one brother, Tim Dove of Macon. Georgia; 3 grandchildren, Lindsey Waldvogle, Noah Phillips, and Taylor Hester.She is also survived by a niece, Melissa Lunsford and great-niece, Abigail Lunsford of Martin, Georgia A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Gateway Community Chapel in Toccoa, Georgia with Pastor Don Scott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 855 Gaines School Road, Athens, GA30605. Service arrangements for Mrs.Shirley Dove Carter were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
