Shirley McClanahan Hulsey

Mrs. Shirley Williams McLanahan Hulsey, of 400 Snyder Avenue, Elberton, Georgia passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at 12:45 p.m. Shirley was born October 30, 1935, in Clarke County, Georgia to the late J. B. and Dot Williams. She had lived in Elberton since 1941. She was twice married, first to the late Steve McLanahan of Elberton for thirty-six (36) years and second to the late William Max Hulsey of Lavonia. Mrs. Hulsey was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elberton since 1947. After graduating from Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, Anderson, South Carolina in 1956, she worked for more than fifty (50) years as a registered nurse. Twenty-seven (27) of those years she served as Supervisor of the operating and recovery rooms at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Later she was employed by Heardmont Nursing Home as Assistant Director of Nursing. A graveside service will be held, Tuesday February 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the family lot at Elmhurst Cemetery, Elberton, Georgia.
