St. John William Plont

St. John “Sinjin” William Plont, 52, of Colbert, Georgia, passed away February 16, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta, Georgia due to complications from COPD and a heart condition, he was surrounded by his family during this time, and passed peacefully in the afternoon.

He was born August 12, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Ronald William Plont and Barbara Jean Messer. He was the middle child of 7 brothers and sisters. John graduated from Elberton County Comprehensive Highschool in 1986. He married Diane Drake on 10/04/1986, they were blessed with 2 children, Julie Ann Hope Plont and Ray Plont.

John had an apt for managing money and people. He managed Bojangles in Elberton Georgia for 12 long years until his health led him to early retirement from his career. When he was not working he would help his son work on cars, and teach his kids how to be handy around the house, everything from fixing well pumps to repairing a roof. He also spent time teaching his kids archery and taught them how to shoot. He enjoyed spending time outside with his kids, he would have water gun fights with them, jump on the trampoline, and get them outdoors and active.
When John wasn’t teaching his kids life lessons, you would find him playing video games, or watching movies. He loved movies, especially movies with zombies. He loved classic cop shows, NCIS was one of his favorite TV Shows.

John Plont is survived by: Wife: Diane Plont, Children: Julie Plont and Ray (Spouse Ashley) Plont Brother: David (Spouse Joyce) Plont Sisters: Bertie (Spouse John) Anderson, Angel Messer, Theresa Baker, Amy Plont, Lisa Roberts, and Carol Wood. John is preceded in death by father Ronald W Plont and mother Barbara Jean Messer, and step father Charles R Messer.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 7:00PM to 9:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home in Elberton GA. The funeral will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018, 2:00 PM, at Berry Funeral Home in Elberton Georgia.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Berry Funeral Home of Elberton Georgia or immediate family to help with the cost of the funeral expenses.
