Mr. James Stanley Rice, 63, of Martin Villa Road, Elberton, husband of 25 years to Chris Wallace Rice, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Mr. Rice was born in Elbert County on August 4, 1952, to Inez Vickery Rice and the late Claudie James Rice. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of the home and mother of Elberton, he is survived by his children: Melanie Rice Albertson and Kevin Rice and his wife Allison, all of Elberton; grandsons: Justin Rice and Austin Albertson, both of Elberton; siblings and their spouses: Deborah and Butch Jefferson, Beth and Martin Brown, Cindy and Kent King, Randall Rice, Clay and Dana Rice, and Travis and Kim Rice, all of Elberton; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Lucy Wallace of Elberton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Wright officiating. Private inurnment will be at a later date. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family is at the residence of Kevin and Allison Rice, 1709 Bullards Ferry Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00p.m. on Wednsday evening.
