Mrs. Stella Delores "Trudy" Wacaster Chattin, 83, of Blue Hole Road, Elberton, wife of the late Ralph Lanier Chattin, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2018, at the Heritage Hospice in Marietta. Mrs. Chattin was born in Cherokee County on March 2, 1932, to the late Clyde Eugene and Estelle Gregg Wacaster. She was a retired poultry inspector having worked for the U.S. Government and a member of Toonigh Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Johnny Albert Chattin of Elberton, Timmy Chattin of Canton, and Wayne Chattin, both of Canton; daughters, Diane Shaham of Jasper, Nina Walden of Canton, and Lora Chattin Hill; sister, Myrtle Covington of Ball Ground; brother-in-law, Max Nesbit of Canton; twenty grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Eugene Wacaster, Elizabeth Colley, Catherine Jackson, Carline "Connie" Nesbit, and Mary Lou Padgett. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, at 12:30p.m. in the Chapel of Sosebee Funeral Home, 191 Jarvis Street, Canton, GA 30114. Cremation will follow the service at Berry Crematory in Elberton. The family will receive friends from 4:00-10:00p.m. on Monday at Sosebee Funeral Home, 191 Jarvis Street, Canton, GA 30114.
