Steve Gunter

Mr. Guy Stephen "Steve" Gunter, 70, of Brewers Bridge Road, Elberton, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Heardmont Nursing Home. Mr. Gunter was born on July 15, 1943, in Elbert County to the late James Howard "Zeke" Gunter and Mazelle Locke Gunter. He was a Sign Painter for IV Hulme, member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, former member of the Elberton American Legion and Elberton Moose Lodge. Left to cherish his memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rhonda E. Gunter of Elberton; grandsons, Cody Gunter and Clint Gunter; and siblings and their spouses, Carol and Bob Walters of Elberton, Dennis and Velma Gunter of Hartwell, and Larry and Elaine Gunter of Elberton. Graveside services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, September 23, at 2:00p.m. in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Al Butler officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. Pallbearers will include grandsons and nephews. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions in Steve's memory to Heardmont Nursing Home or to the American Cancer Society.
