Mr. Thomas Stevenson Scarborough, 77, of 1707 Washington Highway, Elberton, GA, husband of Monte Sue Smith Scarborough, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC. Mr. Scarborough was born in Elbert County on May 15, 1937, to the late Henry & Fannie Mae Scarborough. He was an entrepreneur. His business was Scarborough’s Used Cars, Body & Paint Shop for 45 years where he worked as a used car dealer and paint & body man. Mr. Scarborough was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Survivors include his wife, Monte Sue Smith Scarborough; his Siblings are John Scarbrough and his wife, Jean of Elberton, GA, Elmer Scarborough of Comer, GA; and one Sister-in-Law, Nelda Scarborough of Elberton, GA and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Scarborough’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home in Elberton, GA with Elder Ronald Scaglione officiating. A Memorial Reception will follow at the Bowman Community Center, Hill Crest Cemetary, 209 East Railroad Street, Bowman, GA. The family is at the residence on Washington Highway where they will receive family & friends until the day of the Memorial Service.
