Sudie Ruth Skelton Adams, 92, of 2848 Green Acres Road, Rock Branch Community, wife of the late James Beverly Adams, Sr., passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Adams was born in Elbert County, July 31, 1920, to the late James Mallory Skelton and Julia Ella Craft Skelton. She was a homemaker and seamstress. Sudie was a member of the New Bethel United Methodist Church and the New Bethel United Methodist Women. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Brenda & Neal Floyd and James Beverly Adams, Jr.; and one grandchild, Jamie Suzanne Adams, all of Elberton. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by siblings, Ruby Ella Skelton, Ligon McNeeley Skelton, and George Albert Skelton. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2PM Thursday, December 27, in the New Bethel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Allen Carmichael and Nancy Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Ralph Adams, Gary Adams, Joe Adams, Lanier Dunn, Jimmy Dunn and Harry Floyd serving as pallbearers. The family is at the home of Neal & Brenda Floyd, 2872 Green Acres Road, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6-8PM Wednesday evening.
