Susie Shaw Donald

Mrs. Susie Mae Shaw Long Donald, 94, of Bowman, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Hartwell Health and Rehab.

Mrs. Donald was born in Elbert County on November 1, 1924, daughter of the late John William Shaw and Essie Mildred Mann Shaw. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She worked as a sales clerk at both Newberry’s in Columbus and Belk in Elberton.

Surviving are her siblings: Robert Louis Shaw of Bowman and Julia Nash of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands: Tullie Glen “Bill” Long and Tommy Donald; siblings: J.T. Shaw, Wilma Shaw, Pauline Rousey, Eva Bell Pulliam, Sara Brown, Raybon Shaw, Holcomb Shaw, and Buford Shaw.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2PM on Thursday, January 31, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Gilmer officiating. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1-2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
