Sylvia Ann Blanton

Mrs. Sylvia Ann Justice Blanton, 70, of Lever Ct. Anderson, SC departed from this world on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 1:45PM at Hospice of the Upstate after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Sylvia was born in Elberton, GA, but spent her life living in Anderson, SC. She was a daughter of Rudo Justice and Flora Lee Chitwood Wells. Sylvia was an RN for 40 years and spent most of her life helping others. She was a friend to many and had the ability to make them laugh very easily. She was a advocate for every patient she cared for and she impacted each life that crossed her path. She devoted her entire life to the cause of The Salvation Army where she selflessly served in any capacity that was needed. She loved her church, her Lord, family and friends with her whole heart. She was a proud mother of 6 children: Pamela (Matt) Brown of Marmora, NJ, Rhonda McKinley of Douglassville, PA, Thomas Bridges of Anderson, SC, Jackie (Patrick) Keown of Anderson, SC, Stephen (Machelle) McLane of Greenville, SC, and Sydel (John) Doster of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by her 4 sisters Jean Brown, Hollis Farmer, Debi Shiflett and Jane Smith; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and special best friends Jo Mauldin and Tommie Mauldin. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm on March 18, 2016 at The Salvation Army of Anderson with Pastor Patrick Keown and Captain Jason Hughes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army of Anderson. Gam, you were admired and loved by many. You were an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, nurse, and friend.
