Terry Wayne Black

Mr. Terry Wayne Black, 55, husband of 17 years to Melissa Suzanne Wilson Black, entered into rest peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his home on Lake Hartwell, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Born in Royston on October 29, 1968, Terry was a son of Jamie Dell “Blue” and Mary Ann Driver Black, and the late Grady Howard Dove. Having worked in construction all of his life, he was the founder and owner/operator of Storage Master, a company that specialized in building portable buildings, play houses, and tiny homes. Terry was a talented carpenter who took pride in his work and worked hard to build a reputation of quality craftsmanship.

When not searching for the next perfect piece of property to sell or home to remodel, Terry loved being outdoors. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, and always had a special love for being on the lake, whether it was fishing or simply cruising on the boat.

In addition to his wife of Hartwell and parents of Elberton, he is survived by his children: Christopher and Jessica Black, Casey Black, and Madison and Eli York; siblings: Douglas Black, Leslie White, Barry Black, and Sheila and Todd Bryant; grandchildren: Skylair Black, Ava Black, and Benjamin Black; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family is at the residence, 300 Black Point Drive, Hartwell, and will receive friends on Wednesday, September 4, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Terry’s life will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, at 11:00a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Terry’s longtime friend, Rev. Cory Pulliam, officiating.

Flowers are accepted. If desired, contributions may be made to Friends Helping Friends Club, Inc., 1027 Micliff Drive, Elberton, GA 30635 or to Masonic Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211. Both organizations were dear to Terry’s heart and ones that he faithfully supported.

Those wishing may sign the online guestbook at berryfh.com.

Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton is respectfully in charge of arrangements for Mr. Terry Wayne Black.
