Theodosia Lee Yeargin Worley

Mrs. Theodosia Lee “Theo” Yeargin Worley, 96, of Elberton, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Worley was born in Elberton on August 4, 1925, daughter of the late Will Henry Yeargin, Jr. and Kate Ellen Sanders Yeargin. She was a graduate of Nancy Hart High School and a lifelong member of Eliam United Methodist Church. She attended cosmetology school in Greenville, SC and worked as a hairdresser at the Gallant-Belk Salon in Elberton, where she retired as manager after 30 years of service. Theo loved gardening - both flower and vegetable - and will be lovingly remembered for the red tulip bed she kept in her front yard on the Washington Highway. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed painting and crafts, and loved doting on children.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine Y. and Joe Fernandez of Elberton; step-children and their spouses: Kenneth and Jonell Worley of Elberton and Carolyn and Raymond La Bleu of Lake Charles, La; step-daughter-in-law, Brenda “BJ” Worley of Elberton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Speed Worley; and her siblings and their spouses: James and Helen Yeargin, Clarence and Mildred Yeargin, Ellen and Howard Madden, Charles and Louise Yeargin, and Patricia Yeargin.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, June 22, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Teresa Lilja officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
