Thomas Brantley Witcher, 88, of 1055 Ruckersville Rd. Elberton, husband of Jeanette Pitts Witcher died Monday February 1, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Born in Hart County he was a son of the late Brantley S. Witcher and Georgia Ann Barton Witcher. He was a retired polisher from the granite industry, he attended Deep Creek Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII. Survivors include his wife of the home Jeanette Pitts Witcher, sons Barry Thomas Witcher and Darrell Witcher both of Elberton, sister Evelyn Looney of Elberton, and 2 grandchildren Macie and Brantley Witcher. He was preceded in death by sisters Inez Seymour, and Estelle Carter, brothers Talmadge Witcher, and John Witcher. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 4, at 3PM at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Adams and Rev. William Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at the home 1055 Ruckersville Rd. and will receive friends from 7-9 PM Wednesday night at Berry Funeral HOme. Pallbearers will include Kenneth Witcher, Jerry Witcher, Bruce Parham, Mark Shell, Matt Brown, and Ed Cleveland. Honorary Pallbearers will include John Amerine, Talmadge Bone, Calvin Cannon, Bob Higginbotham, and Bill Hall. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his honor to Deep Creek Baptist Church or Frances Asbury United Methodist Church. Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Thomas Brantley Witcher.
