Thomas Carey Jones

Mr. Thomas Carey Jones, 82, of Magnolia Estates, formerly of Calhoun Falls Highway, husband of the late Mary Lester Scarborough Jones, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born in Mt. Dora, Florida on March 5, 1931, to the late Thomas C. and Mary Atkins Jones. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, and a retired fireman. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Sonja Lovinggood and Sheila Vickery, both of Elberton; siblings, Talmadge Jones, Pansey Gaines, and Charlotte Nagel, all of Elberton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Kay Jones; and siblings, Otho Jones and Mary Alberta Anderson. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, at 4:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the residence of Dennis and Sonja Lovinggood, 1060 Sara Jane Drive and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00-4:00p.m. on Wednesday.
