Thomas Edward Dunn, 81, of 2354 Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, husband of Verna Dixon Dunn, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Dunn was born in Elbert County, April 28, 1929, son of the late Robert Enex Dunn, Sr. and Allie Mae Seymour Dunn. He retired from Elberton Mills after 34 years of service, from Madden's One Stop after 12 years of service, and was a farmer. He was also a member of the Deep Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a past head deacon. Survivors include his wife, Verna Dixon Dunn of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Zane Saxon; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Debbie Dunn; brother, Robert E. Dunn, Jr., six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Dunn is preceded in death by his sister, Laquita Dunn Evans. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held at 3PM Sunday, January 2, 2011, at the Deep Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Timothy Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2-3PM Sunday, just prior to the service in the Webb Fellowship Hall at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Flowers will be graciously accepted. Pallbearers will include Bobby Dunn, Clay Dunn, Monty Dixon, Douglas Slay, Jason Taft, and Michael Hewell. Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.berryfh.com.
