Mr. Thomas “Buddy” Hiram Ham, 80, of Jefferson, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at home.Born December 6, 1940 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Thomas Lester and Nelowease Walden Ham.Mr. Ham was a truck driver and had worked for Gwinnett Utilities and for many years he had also worked part time for The Atlanta Journal & Constitution.He was a proud member of Harmony Baptist Church.He loved God, loved the church and loved his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ham was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Geneva Cook. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Rosalie Richardson Ham; Daughters and their husbands, Denise and Brad Cash, of Hoschton, Kimberly and Terry Cannon of Lebanon, Tennessee and Melinda and Greg Plavcan, of Jefferson; grandchildren, Amanda Miller (Darl), Autumn Wall (Josh), Olivia Holcombe, Megan Cash, Stacie Lowry (Matthew), Savanna Harvey (Matthew), Lacie Johnson (Jacob), Brittany Walker (Leonard), Kyle Plavcan (Emily), Kristina Halchishak (Jake), Amy Cannon and Lee Cannon (Joni); twenty-six great grandchildren; sister, Ann McPherson, nephew, Kevin McPherson, niece, Renee Littlejohn and other nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mr. Ham's life was held on Monday, March 1, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Kellum officiating.Interment followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Kevin McPherson, Greg Plavcan, Kyle Plavcan, Matthew Harvey, Leonard Walker and Josh Wall serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday just prior to service time. Arrangements for Mr. Thomas "Buddy" Ham were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
