Mr. Thomas Harlon Teasley, 94, of Locust Tree Drive, Dewy Rose, husband of 65 years to the late Ina Burden Teasley, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Piedmont Athens Regional.
Mr. Teasley was born in Elbert County on September 25, 1922, son of the late Thomas Linton Teasley and Ila Ayers Teasley. He was a retired business owner having operated dry cleaning businesses in the Charlotte, NC area for many years. After moving back to Elbert County in the mid 80s, he worked at Bell Granite Company. He was a member of Liberty Congregational Church and enjoyed family, genealogy, and helping his fellow man. Mr. Teasley served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII.
Survivors include his daughter, Brenda May of Elberton; son, Ronzel Teasley and his wife Katherine of Indian Land, SC; grandsons: Kenneth Richard May and his wife Diana and Tristan Mark Teasley and his wife Angie; great-grandchildren: Jacob, McKenna, Sawyer, and Hannah; sister, Eleazer Miley of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Wilburn, Merrell, infant brother, Paul, infant sister, Morris, and Jimmy.
The funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, November 3, at 11 o’clock in Liberty Congregational Church with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Mr. Teasley will be placed in the church at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday evening.
