Thomas Henry Burdette, 84, of 1350 Double Bridges Road, Elberton, husband of 57 years to Gwendolyn Coats Burdette, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Mr. Burdette was born in Elbert County, November 2, 1928, to the late William Henry and Ina Mae Stalkner Burdette. He was a retired store keeper from Monroe Automotive and a member of Dewy Rose Baptist Church. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Gwendolyn Coats Burdette; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Jolynda Burdette of Elberton and Clay and Dawn Burdette of Ft. Valley; brother and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Jeanette Burdette of Elberton and Allene Burdette of Conyers; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 12noon Tuesday, December 4, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Kenny Martin. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The Burdette family is at the residence, 1350 Double Bridges Road, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6-8PM Monday evening.
