Mr. Thomas W. “Tommy” Patton, Jr., of Lexington, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Health Care Center in Crawford. Mr. Patton was born in Oglethorpe County, son of the late Thomas William and Janie Lou Bridges Patton. Mr. Patton is survived by 3 sisters: Louise Yearwood (Daniel) of Lexington, Mary Guest (Robert) of Lexington, and Patricia Barrett of Hubert, NC.He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Larry Munday of Lexington; a special caregiver, Wanna Anderson of Crawford; several nieces and nephews; and a good friend and mentor, Roy Waller of Lexington. In addition to his parents, Mr. Patton was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Munday, and a brother-in-law, Russell Barrett. A service to celebrate Mr. Patton’s life was held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glade United Methodist Church, with Dr. Doug Bower officiating. A time of visitation began at 1:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Interment followed in the church cemetery, and Jason Guest, Lee Yearwood, Scott Yearwood, Marshall Patton, Ginger Tiller, and Roger Guest served as pallbearers.Roy Wallerserved as an honorary pallbearer.
