Thomas Watson "Tommy" Franklin, Jr., 72, of 1502 Franklin Drive, Elberton, husband of Brenda Alexander Franklin, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Franklin was born in Elbert County, February 24, 1941, to the late Thomas Watson, Sr. and Reba Dye Franklin. He was owner/operator of Franklin's Grocery in Fortsonia and was a member of Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 53 years, Brenda Alexander Franklin; children and their spouses, Jeff and Lisa Franklin of Washington, Greg and Terrie Franklin of Elberton, Erica and Terry Roberts of Elberton, and Leslie Gay and Duane Jones of Westminster, SC; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings and their spouses, Patricia and Asberry Dunn, Jr. and Merrill and Ellen Franklin, all of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, August 7, at 3:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Phillip Hart and Paul Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church with Jason Franklin, Jonathan Franklin, Cristian Barbosa, Zachary Payton, Alex Davis, and Andrew Davis honored as pallbearers. The family is at the residence, 1502 Franklin Drive and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:30-3:00p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
