Thora Cannon Black

Mrs. Thora Cannon Black, 84, of Elberton, GA passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Black was born February 10, 1933 in Lithonia, GA to Byron Cannon and Elizabeth Webb Cannon. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children: Melvin Lee Black, Jr. and Wanda Black of Elberton, GA, William and Lucy Black of Elberton, GA, Steve and Joyce Black of Carlton, GA, Madonna and Lamar Williams of Royston, GA, Lisa Saxon of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister: Nancy Littleton of Walhalla, SC, eleven grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin Lee Black, Sr. and her infant twin.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held 3PM, Friday January 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. James Gunn officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM just before the service at Berry Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of Madonna and Lamar Williams, 117 Deerfield Lane, Royston, GA.
