Mr. Timothy Robert “Tim” Prince, 65, of Tim Prince Drive, Elberton, died on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
Tim was born on March 28, 1958, in Warner Robins, GA where his father was stationed with the United States Air Force. He lived most of his life in Elberton where he was a life-long granite sandblaster. He used his talents to help ease the burden of grief to families who had lost loved ones. Tim had worked at many granite manufacturing plants, and just recently retired from Walker Granite Company.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and racing. Tim enjoyed the simple things in life, and could often be found watching old western television shows, with a special love of Big Valley and Gunsmoke. He was Ansley’s devoted dad and fierce protector, and loved nothing more than spending time with his family. “Papa” looked forward to spending time with his best bud, Mason, and was always willing to be Mart’s travel buddy, especially when a trip to Sonny’s BBQ was part of the plan.
Surviving are his daughter, Ansley Mills and her fiancé Mart Clamp, of Elberton; grandson, Mason Carlton of Elberton; and siblings: Virginia Booth of Comer and Rick Wheatley of Dickinson, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Robert Prince and Mary Thomas Thornton; and Ansley’s mother and his former wife, Beverly Eloise Hancock Prince.
A time of visitation celebrating Tim’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest with his father and wife.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
Those wishing may sign the online guestbook at www.berryfh.com.
Berry Funeral Home & Crematory of Elberton is respectfully in charge of arrangements for Mr. Timothy Robert “Tim” Prince.
