Mrs. Christine G. (Tina) Williford,89,of Elberton,passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday, October 28, 2011 in Anderson, South Carolina. Mrs. Tina, as she was lovingly called,was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Lester and Arlie Hornsby Goss.She was the wife of the late Honorable Judge John W. Williford, Sr. of Elberton. Mrs. Tina was a Sunday School teacher at Elberton First Baptist Church for 50 years, a member of the Elbert County Library Board for 36 years, a public school teacher for many years,and a public speaker for different civic groups and organizations.She was active in both the prayer ministries and the senior adult ministries of Elberton First Baptist Church. Mrs. Tina is survived by her three children:John William Williford, Jr.,Deborah Christine Williford Thornton, and Mary Victoria Williford Dixon.She is also survived by four grandchildren.Mrs. Tina was preceded in death by her parents,her husband,and a sister, Willadean Goss Lasseter. A service to celebrate Mrs. Tina’s life will be Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Elberton First Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Purvis officiating.A time of visitation for family and friends will be in the Fellowship Hall at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service.Commital service will follow at Elberton First Baptist Church.
