Tom Henry Gilbert, Jr.

Conway, SC - Tom Henry Gilbert Jr., 79, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at the Medical University of South Carolina surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Gilbert was born in Elberton, GA, a son of the late Tom H. Gilbert Sr. and Frances Wansley Gilbert. He graduated from Clemson University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Management. He was a pitcher for the Clemson Baseball Team. He was Director of Human Resources for United Merchants and Manufacturing at Conway Mill. He was a Vice President at New South Inc. and Carolina Assemblies.

Surviving are: three daughters, Traci Gilbert-Stafford (Greg) of Nashville, TN, E. Brooke Gilbert (Bob) of Seattle, WA, Dr. Kelle Gilbert Siegmund of Myrtle Beach, SC; their mother, Fran B. Gilbert; grandchildren, Gavin Thomas Siegmund and Tate James Siegmund; brother, Donald L. Gilbert of Elberton, GA; sister, Sandra G. Lumpkin (Rudy) of Winder, GA; and several nephews and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday October 7, 2023 at First Baptist Conway with Rev. Rocky Taylor officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday October 14, 2023 at Elmhurst Cemetery. 400 N. Oliver Street, Elberton, GA 30635.
