Tommy Allgood, Sr.

 Mr. Tommy Allgood, Sr., age 73, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on January 12, 2025 at his home. He was born on November 9, 1951 in Elberton, Georgia and his parents were the late James Elbert Allgood and the late Cathryn Marie Cleveland Allgood. Mr. Allgood lived most of the latter portion of his life in Cook County. He was a member of Springhead Baptist Church and was also retired from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources where he served as Park Manager for nine state parks including many years as the manager for Reed Bingham State Park.

Mr. Allgood is survived by his wife, Barbara Allgood of Adel; his daughter, Tammie Bobo of Sparks, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law: Todd and Becky Allgood, Thomas Jr. and Stephanie Allgood, all of Adel; five grandchildren: Brandon and Hannah Bobo of Nashville, Georgia, Aiden Allgood, Thomas Allgood III, Jack Allgood, and AnneMarie Allgood, all of Adel; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Jerry Yeargin of Elberton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allgood was preceded in death by a son, Brandon Lee Allgood.

The funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Springhead Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Taylor and Rev. Elkin Harnage officiating. Interment will follow at Springhead Church Cemetery. Eric Gonzales will sing "How Great Thou Art" and "Midnight Cry" as well as play piano at the service. Thomas Allgood Jr., Aiden Allgood, Brandon Bobo, Ben Whiddon, James Ray and Turner Boone will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
