Mrs. Toni Olgiati Sword, 73, of Mineral Springs Road, Elberton, wife of the late John Evatt Sword, I, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Elbert Memorial Hospital while under the care of Gentiva Hospice. Mrs. Sword was born in Elbert County on August 24, 1940; daughter of the late Arturo "Tootie" Olgiati and Gladys Jones Olgiati Sayer and step-daughter of the late James Roy Sayer. She was retired from Elbert County Comprehensive High School and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Tia Sword Johnson and her husband Galen and John E. Sword, II, all of Elberton; two grandchildren: Allie and Johna; two sisters: Peggy Joslyn of Elberton and Elaine Rudder of Calhoun Falls, SC; and several other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Kay Olgiati. Mrs. Sword's wishes were to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held on the family farm.
