Mr. William Anthony "Tony" Beahringer, 24, of Athens, Georgia became an Angel on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, due to a severe brain injury suffered during a traffic accident. He was born on January 31, 1989, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to Glenna Ganninger Hamilton and the late Ralph David Beahringer. Tony was an honor graduate of Elbert County Comprehensive High School Class of 2008 where he was voted most athletic. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church of Elberton. Tony attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and was an employee of Amici Italian Cafe of Athens. He loved his family, friends, music and was an accomplished artist. Tony was a free spirit with a beautiful warm smile who wanted to make everyone happy. As an organ donor, he will live on thru the lives of many people. Tony is survived by his parents, Glenna and Tim Hamilton of Elberton; sister, Roberta Tyler of Bowman; brother, Michael Joseph "Joey" Beahringer and his wife Brittany of Elberton; nephews, Dustin Beahringer of Bowman and Tommy Beahringer of Elberton; niece, Alice Beahringer of Elberton; cousin and roommate, April A. May of Athens; grandparents, Patti Socher of Loxahatchee, Florida and Bruce Hamilton of Bristol, Virginia; and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph David Beahringer; brother, David Thomas "Tommy" Beahringer; grandfathers, Robert Ganninger and Ralph Beahringer; and grandmothers, Mildred Walker and Jackie Hamilton. A Celebration of Tony's life will be held on Monday, January 27, at 2:00p.m. in the Cross and Flame Building at First United Methodist Church of Elberton with the Rev. Sharon Coley officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Tony will lie in state at the church from 1:00p.m. until the service hour. The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-2:30p.m. and from 6:00-8:00p.m. At other times, the family will be at the home of Tim and Glenna Hamilton, 1211 Go Fish Drive, Elberton. Pallbearers will include Colin Threlkeld, Nicholas Wiles, Josh Spillard, Edward Speaker, Dustin Beahringer, Josh Giannoni, Josh Seymour, and Davey Hudson. April May and Luc Ayers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
