Vanessa Jean Thurmond

Miss Vanessa Jean Thurmond, 57, of Madison County, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Nancy Hart Nursing Center.

Vanessa was born in Athens on April 27, 1963, daughter of the late Leon Thurmond and Shelby Jean Sapp Thurmond.

Survivors include her sons: James Leon Thurmond, Brandon David Shields, and Brian Lee Shields; brother, Tony Bullins; and twelve grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her long time companion, David Lee Shields; and sister, Teresa Bullins.
