Ms. Vera Nash Graham, 86, of Elberton, passed away January 15, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA. A native of Elberton, Ms. Graham was the daughter of the late Pope and Minnie Culbreth Nash.She was born April 22, 1929.Ms. Graham was a retired nurse having worked in the office of Dr. Sid.She was of the Baptist Faith. Ms. Graham is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Otho and Patricia Graham, of Bowman; one daughter, Rayna Halloway, of Yelm, Washington;grandchildren:Zac and Hannah Graham, Michelle, Christian and Mitch Vernon;and two great-grandchildren.She is also survived by one brother, Roy Nash, of Powder Springs and a sister, JoAnn Morton, of Washington. In addition to her parents, Ms. Graham was preceded in death by a son, William Marcus Evans; two brothers, Rayford and Charlie Nash; and two sisters, Marie Harper and Lillian Nash. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ms. Graham’s life was held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. A time of visitation began at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Humane Association, 1400 16th St. N.W., Suite 360, Washington, DC 20036.
