Vera Nash Graham

Ms. Vera Nash Graham, 86, of Elberton, passed away January 15, 2016 at Gentiva Hospice in Athens, GA. A native of Elberton, Ms. Graham was the daughter of the late Pope and Minnie Culbreth Nash.She was born April 22, 1929.Ms. Graham was a retired nurse having worked in the office of Dr. Sid.She was of the Baptist Faith. Ms. Graham is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Otho and Patricia Graham, of Bowman; one daughter, Rayna Halloway, of Yelm, Washington;grandchildren:Zac and Hannah Graham, Michelle, Christian and Mitch Vernon;and two great-grandchildren.She is also survived by one brother, Roy Nash, of Powder Springs and a sister, JoAnn Morton, of Washington. In addition to her parents, Ms. Graham was preceded in death by a son, William Marcus Evans; two brothers, Rayford and Charlie Nash; and two sisters, Marie Harper and Lillian Nash. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ms. Graham’s life was held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in The Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home. A time of visitation began at 2:00 p.m. just prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Humane Association, 1400 16th St. N.W., Suite 360, Washington, DC 20036. Arrangements for Ms. Vera Nash Graham were in the care of Hicks Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Elberton.
