Vernon Paul Bearden

Mr. Vernon Paul Bearden, age 56, of Elberton, GA died December 30, 2008.Mr. Bearden was a long-time employee in the granite industry and worked as a crane operator for Quarries, Inc. His is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie S. Bearden of Elberton; son, Greg Bearden of Elberton; daughter, Tina Gilchrist of Calhoun Falls, SC; grandchildren, Kiana Gilchrist, Kenan Gilchrist, Zackery Bearden, and Madison Bearden; brothers, Mitchell Bearden of Calhoun Falls, Warren “Luther” Bearden of Abbeville, Raymond Bearden of Elberton, and Joe Bearden of Elberton; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2 at 2:00 PM in Welcome Wesleyan Church with remains to lie in state at 1:00.Reverend Jerry Dalton officiating.Interment will follow in Bethlehem UMC Cemetery.The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calhoun Falls Funeral Home in care of The Bearden Family.
