Vernon Felix Grimes

Mr. Vernon Felix Grimes, 55, of Elberton, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.A native of Elberton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Carl Joseph Grimes and the late Betty Catherine Walling Grimes.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Summer Ashley Grimes and Shonda Lee Hammond and a brother, Roger Grimes.Felix, as he was known, had worked in the granite industry as a stonecutter, having worked at Central Granite and Color Select Vase Company. Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Jena Lovenia Dalton Grimes; sons, Justin Felix Grimes, Stanley Lee Hammond, and Tyler Allen Hammond; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Debbie Grimes; sister, Kathy Haynes; and eight grandchildren. Felix’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
