Vernon Mckinley Alexander

Mr. Vernon McKinley Alexander, 87, of Newborn Rd., Rutledge, GA husband of Hazel Ridley Alexander passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center after injuries sustained from a automobile accident. Mr. Alexander was born September 7, 1928 in Lindale, GA to the late William McKinley Alexander and Julia Canzada Hinson Alexander. He was a retired residential construction worker and a member of Freedom Worship Center in Greshamville. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Hazel Ridley Alexander; sons and daughters-in-law William Anthony "Tony" and Donna Alexander of Rutledge, GA, Phillip Dewayne and Tara Alexander of Lula, GA, Ken Vernon McKinley and Cyndi Alexander, Jr. of Winder, GA, daughters and sons-in-law Elaine and Gary Reed of Oakwood, GA, Deborah and Paul Dyar of Lake Hartwell, SC, Kathy and Jimmy Irvin of Oakwood, GA, Benita and Rebel Dewitt of Bethlehem, GA, Rebecca "Becky" and Mustafa Tariq of Oakwood, GA; sister Bonnie Green of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, sister-in-laws Brenda Alexander of Trenton, GA, Linda Alexander of Cedartown, GA, twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son Steven Alexander, infant sons Bobby, Billy, and Randy Alexander. Memorial services to celebrate his life are incomplete at this time and will be announced later. Berry Funeral Home & Crematory, Elberton is assisting the family of Mr. Vernon McKinley Alexander.
