Victor Leroy Scoggins

Mr. Victor Leroy Scoggins, 67, of Garner Road, Bowman, husband of 24 years to Dora Ann Bridges Scoggins, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his residence.

Vic was born in Elberton on November 18, 1956, son of the late Robert Toole Scoggins and Katie Elizabeth Wilder Scoggins Partain. He was a granite polisher having retired from Quality Monument Company and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Vic enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His sense of humor always kept everyone smiling.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Dora, are his children: Jeremy ‘Brent’ and Brandy Scoggins of Elberton, Jade Bray of Carlton, James Anthony “Tony” and Melissa Scoggins of Bowman, Stuart Andrew “Andy” Scoggins of Colbert, April Michelle Jones of Bowman, Jennifer Lynn and Lee “Junior” Salyers of Elberton, Justin Dewayne Jones of Bowman, and Elena Fowler of Bowman; brother, Greg Scoggins of Elberton; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Dicie Rogers, Billy Joe Scoggins, and Larry Scoggins. 

The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Thursday, January 4, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. 

Funeral services celebrating Vic’s life will be held on Friday, January 5, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
