Mr. Victor ‘Jerry’ Wilson, 62, of N. Pope Street, Tignall, husband of 24 years to Jane ‘Louise’ Winfree Wilson, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Augusta University Medical Center.
Jerry was born in Washington on June 6, 1961, son of the late Grady Johnson Wilson and Emma Martin Wilson. He was a 1979 graduate of Washington-Wilkes High School and was a member of Tignall Baptist Church. Jerry worked in the warp room at Hexcel-Schwebel. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing as well as was an avid UGA fan. In his younger years, he played golf and softball. One of Jerry’s favorite pastime was attending races at the drag strip in Commerce. Above all, his family was his greatest treasure.
Surviving, along with his wife Louise, are his children: Dawn Guin of Tignall and Jeremiah Roberson and Jessica of Tignall; and grandchildren who loved their Papa dearly: Alexis Roberson, Bailee Guin, and James Roberson. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Jerome and Becky Wilson of Tignall; and niece and nephews: Vanessa Patrick of Hartwell, Kyle and Courtney Wilson of Tignall, Clete and Julie Wilson of Texas, and Drew and Katlyn Wilson of Tignall; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will host a memorial service on Wednesday, April 10, at 2:00p.m. at Tignall Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private in the Tignall Baptist Church Cemetery.
