Virginia Lykins Dixon, 92, of Nancy Hart Nursing Center, Elberton, widow of Roscoe Lee Dixon died Friday January 29, 2010. Born in Hazard Ky., January 6, 1918. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Lykins and Lydia Browning Lykins. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a school lunchroom Supervisor. Survivors include daughters; Evelyn Dixon, and Martha Campbell, both of Elberton, and Diane Hanson, of Columbia, S.C.. 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday January 31, at the Bethlehem United Methodist Church with, Rev. Lacey Bowcock, Rev. J. Wesley Privett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Sunday before services at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. The family will be at 3147 Dixon-McCall Rd. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her Honor to Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be; Jim Dixon, Dan Yellott, Barry Campbell, Adam Turner, Rick Strickland, and Jim Dinkins. Berry Funeral Home in charge of the funeral arrangements for Virginia Lykins Dixon.
