Wadene Smith

Mrs. Wadene Smith, 92, of Indian Hill Rd., Elberton, GA passed away Monday, January 8, 2018.

Mrs. Smith was born August 22, 1925 in Elberton, GA to Jim Ruff and Adeline Dixon Ruff. She was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and was a home maker.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Janet and Harry Burt Floyd of Elberton, GA; sister and brother-in-law: Iris and Gene Anderson of Elberton, GA; grandchildren: Eric Rousey (Charla), Quinn Floyd (Tammy), Jerrie Floyd; great-grandchildren: Rachel Floyd, Cruz Floyd, Chas Rousey, Logan Rousey, Tailor and Cody Floyd, great-great-grandchildren: Colton Rousey and Weston Floyd.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Bud Smith; and daughter: Elaine Rousey.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Wednesday, January 10 at Falling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Morgan, Rev. Josh Gibson and Rev. Jack McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with John Bradford, Nathan Haynes, Wyatt Rayle, Don Jones, Gary Dixon and Allen Childs serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1-2PM just before the service at Falling Creek Baptist Church.

Flowers are optional and memorials can be made in her memory to: Falling Creek Baptist Church or to Harvest Community Baptist Church.
