Walter Junior Floyd

Mr. Walter Junior Floyd, age 86, of Elberton, passed away on Saturday, February 06, 2010 at the VA Nursing Center in Augusta. Born on September 12, 1923 in Hart County, he was a son of the late Harmon and Ruby Ray Floyd. He was a member of the Liberty Congregational Church and was retired from the textile industry. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Lee Coile Floyd; brothers, Hugh Floyd, Lester Floyd, and DeWitt Floyd; and sister, Imogene Floyd Brown. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Rabon and Linda Floyd, Darrell and Jean Floyd, Adrian and Lisa Floyd, and Sidney and Rhonda Floyd, all of Elberton; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Melvin Floyd and William Floyd; and sisters, Virginia Brown, Thelma Lunceford, Joyce Scarborough, and Ellen Ramey. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 08, 2010 at 3PM in the Chapel of Hicks Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6-8PM Sunday night at Hicks Funeral Home. Hicks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Walter Junior Floyd.
