Mrs. Wanda Fay Miller Forrester, 87, formerly of Elberton, GA, wife of the late Rev. Gary Tylon “Bud” Forrester, Jr., passed away peacefully with her family around on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at her residence in Auburn, GA.
Wanda was born in Louisville, KY on September 2, 1937, daughter of the late Ercy McCoy Miller, Sr. and Marie Decker Miller, and step-daughter of the late Christine McGehee Miller. Following graduate from Shawnee High School, she furthered her education at Georgetown College.
As a minister’s wife, Wanda faithfully served alongside Bud wherever he was called. She later retired from Wal-Mart in Elberton, GA where she worked as manager of the jewelry department. She is most remembered as “Windy The Clown” from her clown ministry.
Surviving are her children and their spouses: Sean and Tina Forrester of Auburn, GA and Joyce and Dave Lay of Rome, GA; sisters: Sue Potaczak and Elizabeth Green, both of Kentucky; grandchildren: Jessica Adkins Thomas and her husband Chris, Joshua Forrester, Jacob Forrester, Brandon Lay, Miranda Roberts, Emma Roberson Kennedy, Cory Hill, and Hunter Hill; great-grandchildren: Ryder Thomas, Ryleigh Thomas, Copen Kennedy, and Lucy Kennedy; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Adkins; and siblings: Ercy Miller, Jr. and Edward Miller.
A celebration of Wanda’s life will be conducted on Saturday, February 1, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Burial, for family only, will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
