Waunelle Craft Benton, 82, of 402 Riley Street, Anderson, South Carolina, formerly of Oglethorpe County, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012, in Anderson. Born in Oglethorpe County, GA on September 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Dameris Bell Craft. She was married to the late JM Benton and a member of Freedom Center Assembly of God. She is survived by her daughters: Karen Fry of Atlanta, GA and Kathy Price and spouse Dan Crowe of Anderson, SC; brother, John Craft of Rock Port, TX; sister, Ann Harris of Hahira, GA; granddaughter, Michelle (Shelly) Burgess of Anderson, SC; and also survived by her loyal pet Oscar. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by a son, Keith Benton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, at 1PM in the Freedom Center of Anderson with the Rev. Ray Spears officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Mattox Cemetery in Carlton. The family is at the home of Kathy Price, 203 Roberts Street, Anderson, and will receive friends at the Woodlawn-Sosebee Funeral Home in Anderson from 6-8PM Wednesday evening.
