Mr. Allen Wayne Gailey, 69, of Harpers Ferry Rd., Elberton, GA husband of the late Barbara Cleveland Gailey passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home. Mr. Gailey was born December 14, 1945 in Elberton, GA to the late Thompson Alfred Gailey, Sr. and Sarah Winona Warren Gailey. He was a retired supervisor from Elberton MFG. and a member of Ruckersville United Methodist Church where he served as a Lay Leader and taught the Adult Sunday School Class. Left to cherish his memories are a daughter and son-in-law Heather G. and DJ Nestor; sons and daughters-in-law Howard and Cara Gailey; Sid and Holli Gailey all of Elberton, GA; brother Thompson Alfred Gailey, Jr., MD of Greenville, SC; grandchildren Austin Nestor, Chase Nestor, Brandon Nestor, Ayden Gailey, Sam Gailey, Faith Gailey and Sidney Gailey. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, October 14, at 4PM in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Ruckersville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rusty Childs, Bubba Childs, Wayne Childs, Roger Grimes, Brock Boyd, Rick Adams and Phillip Campos serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Johnson, Blue Black and Jimmy Cothran. The family will be at the home of Sid and Holli Gailey 422 Heard St., Elberton, GA and will receive friends from 2-4PM Wednesday just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. The family has requested please in lieu of flowers to make memorials in Wayne's honor to Ruckersville United Methodist Church, 2189 Ruckersville Rd. Elberton, GA 30635.
