Wendy Lee McLanahan

Wendy Lee McLanahan (Wendy Bella Wednesday), age 13, was born October 8, 2011, in Nashville, TN and passed December 27, 2024, in Elberton, GA. With her radiant spirit she brought endless amounts of love and light to all those she encountered. 

From the start, she was one of a kind and it reached every aspect of her life, including her communication. She had her own language for certain things, such as “shoe” for going outside and “pire” for vampires, the color red, and any kind of phone/tablet. Despite her lack of vocabulary, her love and adoration needed no translation and Wendy lit up every room she entered. She touched the lives of an innumerous amount of people, including many she never even met. 

She will forever be remembered for her incredible hugs, her love of blowing bubbles and swimming, and her beautiful smile. Her laughter and bright spirit were contagious. We truly believe her purpose on earth was to bring happiness and joy to all those she encountered. 

Wendy is survived by her mother and father: Zed (Yaya) and Jamie McLanahan; grandparents: Michelle (Mimi) and David (P.P.) Capell; grandparents: Kelly and Rod McLanahan; aunts: Jessie Bell and Codie McLanahan; extended family including Ryan (GĪ) Giannoni; and chosen family, Doug and Hannah Coker. 

Wendy was a bright light in a dark world and she will be missed by all who knew her. She will forever shine in our hearts until we see our girl again.
