William Allen "Bud" Jones

Mr. William Allen “Bud” Jones, 85, of Plantation Road, Elberton, GA, husband of Glenda Elaine Thornton Jones, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Bud was born in Pickens County, SC, on October 7, 1936, son of the late Herschel Jones and Pauline Eaton Jones. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and a mechanic having retired from Elberton Foods.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Glenda, include his daughters: Pam Comer of Jefferson, GA, Allison Jones of Greenville, SC, Krystal and Manuel Partain of Elberton, GA, and Laney and Eugene Partain of Elberton, GA; siblings: Ruth Saxon of Athens, GA, Larry Jones of Ninety Six, SC, and Raymond Jones of Dewy Rose, GA; grandchildren: Danielle and Chad Pitts, Christopher Dorsey, Madison Comer, Will Partain, Ben Partain, and Logan Partain; great-grandchildren: Cooper Dorsey, Cadence Pitts, and Elliott Pitts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Destiny Jones; and siblings: Jimmy Jones, Betty Daniel, Jake Jones, Paul Jones, Steve Jones, and Charlie Jones.

The family is at the residence on Plantation Road and will receive friends on Friday, February 4, from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home.

Funeral services celebrating Bud’s life will be held on Saturday, February 5, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Paramore officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
