William "Bill" Bryant Bowden

Mr. William "Bill" Bryant Bowden, Jr., 71, of River Road, Elberton husband of Hazel Marie Hammons Bowden passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Anmed Hospital in Anderson, SC. Mr. Bowden was born December 26, 1943 in Clewiston, FL to the late William Bryant Bowden, Sr. and Elizabeth Hall Bowden. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church of Elberton and had lived in Elberton for the past 10 years moving here from Arcadia, FL. He retired after 37 years from U.S. Sugar where he had worked at the cattle division. After moving to Elberton, he and his wife Hazel enjoyed horses and attending horse shows. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Hazel Marie Hammons Bowden of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law Michael and Gloria Bowden of BoyntonBeach, FL; Henry and Sylvia of Bristol, VA; children Lance and Jackie Bliss of Artesia, NM; Charles and Terri Bowling of Phoenix City, AL; Lorena Mills of Arcadia, FL; four grandchildren Rachel Hoffman, David Mills, Desiree Bowling, Melissa Bliss and four great-grandsons, two nieces, Tia Nicole Bowden, Melissa Bowden Steward, one nephew, Bryant Bowden and four great nieces and nephews. Bill and Hazel had two dogs, Snow and Sweetie that will miss him terribly. Bill will be remembered for his love of God and Country and that radiant smile. He will be missed by all. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 4PM, Friday, July 24 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Kellum officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM Thursday night at Berry Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Ridge Lawn Cemetery in Clewiston, FL where he will be buried next to his mother and father.
